3 Down, 77 To Go

Apparently I really am crazy enough to make 80 cocktail napkins for my upcoming wedding because I actually started on this project last weekend. (There is often a large gap between thinking I will do something and really doing it). Getting started was very satisfying, you have a finished object about every five minutes with these! I have already informed my mother and Melissa that they will be cranking out some napkins too, and they didn't seem horrified at the thought, so hopefully these really will get done. I am already trying to decide what sort of quilt to make with them after the wedding. Oh! And they are a real reason to buy more fabric. It is so strange to have an actual reason...

Horrified, no. Waiting on fabric for napkin production, yes.

you know.... I know that I and many other readers would be thrilled to be able to send a piece of fabric to you to make said napkins and eventual quilt.... Don't get me wrong..... I'd NEVER stand in the way of anyone wanting to buy fabric, just thought it could be fun to get a wild assortment from your loyal blog readers.... nice to "read" you back after the long break....

Oh and BTW... I have to thank you (err NOT :-)) for posting the fabulous Full Moon Forrest fabric on your header. After discovering your blog I went on a full-on internet search for the fabric.... and ended up paying an obscene $21 for an Aqua Owl fat quarter on ebay! Now I'm determined to find more so I can make a quilt similar to yours... AND I'VE NEVER EVEN MADE A QUILT BEFORE!

Oh Mary! $21 for a fat quarter! I am horrified, but totally understand at the same time :) It would be awesome to collect ten inch squares from "loyal blog readers" (eek, do I really have those?)but I would feel really funny asking... will have to think about that one. Good luck on your quilt adventure!

What fabric line and colorway are you using for your wedding?

love them! i like the fact that you are using two fabrics and edge stitching. single layer napkins wouldn't measure up to these!

The napkins looks great! Will they be turned into a quilt after the wedding? And I must say I really like Mary's idea of using fabric from your loyal blog readers (and yes you have those) :)

Well, this gives Mary and I a reason to take an extra trip to the fabric store - something we don't really have any problem fitting in on at least a bi-weekly basis. Fabric is a newer passion for us and this gives us a great reason to help Mary expand the colors in her stash! Looking forward to creating something that will be used for a beautiful memory of such an awesome day!
