As promised, here is a quick video to show exactly how to start and knit the rotini scarf. Hopefully this will clear up the confusion surrounding short rows and get everyone who has had questions knitting away on this fun scarf!
I just wanted to come on and say Thank You for the great video. I'm not a knitter I quilt and I do some crocheting but never knitting. So I watched the video this morning then went to my Mom's and got some knitting needles and odd yarn and came home and started a scarf. I haven't been working on it for long about 3 hours and I'm only about 7 inches into it but it's turning out great. Not bad for a first timer.
Awesome helpful video. I just got this pattern from a friend after I admired her scarf and took me a long time to figure out what the "turn" part was. I wish I had googled your video from the beginning as it would have saved me a bit if confusion. ;)
LOVED the Chaussons mignons booties. Went to Ravelry and found the pattern. Oh No! the pattern is writted in FRENCH. Do you read French, or is there a translation/link available that I didn't spot? Help Please, PS. I "found" you when looking for Clamshell/Rotini/ "a scarf with many names blog. I love your clear directions, but it was the video that made it possible for me to knit the scarf. Have done several now, and ladies are very impressed, Everyone asked for the pattern and I send them to your blog. Sincerely, JH
When you click on the pattern link in Ravelry it takes you to her blog and if you scroll down a bit it has the directions in English, it is only about 5 lines of directions and easy to miss, they are that simple to make! I'm so glad that you found the video helpful, post a link to pictures of your scarves in the comments if you have them posted anywhere online!
Thank you so much for this video, picked up this pattern (free with purchase) at a quilting show and had no idea what to do once I got home. Thanks soooo much. My mom will love this for her birthday :)
Thanks!!! I had admired the pattern I found on Dinkyflowerpots site, but had no clue from the instructions there how it might work. Courtesy of your time, effort, and video, I understand and I'm signing off to go get sticks and string... thank you so much.

Glad it helped! I love the pics of your beautiful Rotties, best dogs ever!
